Challenge

The Challenge

Running communities often operate across scattered tools: Strava for activity, chat groups for coordination, spreadsheets for members, manual event attendance, informal recognition, and fragmented admin work.

As the community grows, these workflows become harder to manage and less consistent for both members and leaders — attendance gets lost in chats, loyalty stays informal, and operational decisions become harder to see clearly.

Solution

The Solution

Galaxiro designed RunYaar as a connected operational layer, not just a website. The system connects member identity, Strava activity, running and health history, Events, QR check-ins, loyalty points, Yaar Coins, user roles, admin workflows, multilingual interface support, and shareable community assets.

The result is a club-owned member portal that keeps activity, attendance, recognition, and operations in one place — with role-based tools for the people who run the community.

Platform Architecture

A connected system — not a brochure site

RunYaar is structured as layered product systems that keep member experience and community operations in sync.

Member Identity Layer

Profiles, access, and member context as the base of the portal.

Strava Activity Layer

Connected run history with a defined lookback window for fair tracking.

Running & Health History Layer

Progress, history, and health-oriented context inside the member experience.

Events & Attendance Layer

Event listing, registration, and attendance verification in one flow.

Loyalty / LP / Coins Layer

Dual LP and Yaar Coins with tiers, badges, and recognition logic.

Role-Based Admin Layer

Staff roles and admin workflows for founders, leaders, and operators.

Multilingual Access Layer

Five languages with RTL treated as a product requirement, not an afterthought.

Reporting / History Layer

Operational history that supports clearer community coordination over time.

Lessons Learned

What the build taught us

Fair scoring beats imported history

Importing history is easier than defining fair scoring.

Occurrence-level events

Recurring events need occurrence-level identity.

Event-day reality

Event-day tools must assume phones, QR friction, and double scans.

Idempotency is product

Idempotency is a product feature, not only an engineering detail.

RTL early

Multilingual and RTL support must be built into components early.

Auditable repair

Data repair should be narrow, auditable, and dry-run-first.
